This year's General Session Speakers include:
Davis, Dr. S.M.
Dr. S.M. Davis photoDr. S.M. Davis has been married to Rae Jean since 1969. They are the parents of 4 daughters who with their husbands and 12 grandchildren are all actively serving the Lord. He is the founder and director of Solve Family Problems, a ministry providing Biblical solutions to critical family problems and helping families foresee and avoid these problems. Dr. Davis served for 36 years as the Pastor of Park Meadows Baptist Church in Lincoln, Illinois, before retiring to become a full-time conference speaker in 2012.

Smith, J. Michael
J. Michael Smith photoAttorney Mike Smith is the President of Home School Legal Defense Association, an organization that he helped found in 1983. Established to protect the right of parents to teach their children at home, HSLDA now represents more than 80,000 member families. Mike and his wife, Elizabeth, began homeschooling their children in 1981. His columns on home education appear regularly in the Washington Times, and he has been a guest on numerous television and radio programs.

Barnier, Carol
Carol Barnier photoCarol Barnier is author of four books, mother to three children and wife to one husband. She is a popular speaker and radio guest. She strives to provide practical and usable ideas in each and every talk. And while she can be quite serious, probably the best description of her is what you find on her business cards: Delightful Speaker, Entertaining Author, Adequate Wife, Pitiful Housekeeper.

Bliesner, Jennifer
Jennifer BliesnerMarried to husband, Bill, since 1972 and a mother of eight (5 of which are special needs), Jennifer Bliesner has home schooled for twenty-four years. She has also worked as a curriculum consultant limiting her work to children with special needs. Currently Jennifer tutors home school students with special needs, and has set up a program to mentor families with this unique challenge.

Edwards, Jo
Jo Edwards photoJo Edwards holds BA and MS Ed degrees in special education and is a licensed teacher. After four years with the Alaska State Program for the Deaf she became a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling her two daughters through high school and serving as a support group coordinator. She is presently the special needs advisor at Basic Skills Assessment and Educational Services where she teaches part-time, consults with parents of special needs students, and provides specialized testing and tutoring.

Forster, Pam
Pam Forster photoPam Forster has always loved studying the Bible and sharing that love with others. Pam and John Forster started homeschooling in 1988, and graduated the last of their six children in 2011. Long ago, while desperately trying to keep three crazy little boys in line, she discovered that the Bible had a wealth of answers to her child-training questions. Through writing books and blogging for Doorposts, Pam helps other Christian parents discover these biblical answers.

Giles, Beth
Beth Giles photoBeth Giles has enjoyed organizing for many years. As a Professional Organizer she has worked in many situations from individual homes to a large non-profit organization. She believes life is happier and runs smoother when things are organized. Before she began organizing she taught school overseas and served as a children’s director at her church. This teaching background enables her to understand and work with each person's different organizing style.

Jacobson, Family
Jacobson Family photo

The Jacobson Family lives on a small acreage in the beautiful desert of Central Oregon. They have four sons and four daughters, ages ranging from 8 to 20 years old. Their oldest son is in the Strategic Intelligence program at Patrick Henry College and you can find their oldest daughter blogging at SavoryThots.com. The Jacobson’s enjoy traveling, blogging, gardening, and discussing ideas - especially over a strong cup of French Press coffee.

Jacobson, Lisa
Lisa Jacobson photoLisa is the wife of Matthew L. Jacobson and together they enjoy raising and home-educating their 8 children. She encourages women to embrace the rich life of loving relationships and the high calling of being a wife and mother at Club31Women.com. Lisa is also the author of 100 Ways to Love Your Husband: A Life-Long Journey of Learning to Love Each Other. She and her husband, Matthew, have also co-authored several children’s books.

Jacobson, Matthew
Matthew Jacobson photoMatthew L. Jacobson has worked in the Christian book publishing industry for twenty-three years,. He is currently president of Loyal Arts Literary Agency representing authors to the publishing industry. Matthew is also a teaching elder at Tumalo Bible Fellowship . Matthew is a published author, his latest entitled, 100 Ways To Love Your Wife – The Life-Long Journey of Learning to Love. He is married to Lisa and together they home educate their 8 children.

Johnson, Lanny
Lanny Johnson photoLanny Johnson is a former evolutionist trained in the sciences. Creation teaching was instrumental in bringing him to a settled assurance that all of God’s Word can be trusted. In 1993, God led him and his wife, Marilyn, to join Alpha Omega Institute and establish the Children’s Ministry to fortify children with the truth of the Bible and to help them avoid the pitfalls of evolution.

Johnson, Rick
Rick Johnson photoRick Johnson is a writer, speaker, and the founder of Better Dads, a fathering skills program based on the urgent need to empower men to lead and serve in their families and communities. Rick shares life-changing insights on parenting, marriage, and personal growth, and he is the bestselling author of ten books on parenting, marriage, masculinity, and family relations. He is also a popular keynote speaker at men’s and women’s conferences and retreats.

Johnson, Terri
Terri Johnson photoTerri Johnson and her husband, Todd, have been teaching their six children for 16 years as well as operating a publishing company, Knowledge Quest, Inc. (knowledgequestmaps.com), publishers of history and geography materials. They also offer two online classes, “Homeschooling ABCs” which helps new homeschoolers successfully teach their children, and “Upper Level Homeschool” which encourages and equips homeschooling parents to stay the course when their teens enter high school.

Jordan, Paul
Paul Jordan photoPaul Jordan is a professor of Computer Science at Southern Wesleyan University. He serves as an elder at his church and has a passion for teaching the Word of God. He is the founder and a teacher of Community Bible Institute, where faculty train adults in hermeneutics, apologetics, Biblical studies, Christian theology, and worldview issues. Paul and his wife Vicki have two children and live near Clemson, SC.

Pietzold, Lisa
Lisa Pietzold photoLisa Pietzold and her husband, Jeremy, live in Sandy, Oregon, where they are raising their three preschool-age children. They are actively involved at Good Shepherd Community Church in children’s ministry as well as leading a Bible study. Lisa is currently a full-time mom and private certified piano teacher. Today she enjoys teaching her preschoolers with six other families in a homeschool co-op that meets in her home two mornings per week.

Smith, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Smith photoElizabeth Smith, wife of Home School Legal Defense Association President Mike Smith, taught three of her four children at home from 1981 to 1996 when the youngest entered college. For 30 years, Elizabeth’s practical wisdom has encouraged audiences at homeschool conferences and women’s retreats throughout the U.S. Michael and Elizabeth have appeared several times on Focus on the Family’s radio program. She has taught a women's Bible study in her local church for 12 years.

St. John, Heidi
Heidi St. John photoHeidi St. John has been married to her husband, Jay, since 1989. Together they have seven children from toddler to adult and have homeschooled all the way through high school. A favorite conference and radio speaker, Heidi approaches marriage and parenting with humor and grace. Her passion to encourage moms and set them free to be who God has created them to be will bless and encourage you.
